Canti Ii Console Table
Our Canti II console was inspired by a visit by Matthew to London. Upon emerging from Waterloo, he counted the various cranes over the city. Being of a delightful, cantilevered structure, they would point towards or away from various landmarks. Matthew was in town to visit a client and it transpired they were looking for him to design “a welcoming introductory piece for the hallway”; one that would beckon them inside the house. His mind slipped back to the cranes and their pointing the way. The surface of the console is decorated with diagonal grooves, adding textural detail that catches the light in different ways at different times of the day. This piece was awarded a Bespoke Guild Mark by the Furniture Makers Company .
