Laid Back Dresser

Our Laid Back dresser: a really useful, elegant piece which embodies our mantra of ‘strength and beauty’, be it for the kitchen, dining room, hallway or living room. Sweet chestnut is a durable, versatile timber, normally a pale colour throughout. In some older trees, whose roots are colonised by beefsteak fungus (Fistulina hepatica), the fungi react with the tannin-rich timber, causing streaks of colour to run through the otherwise pale wood. Tannin is a great natural preservative found in oak and sweet chestnut, hence ‘tanning’ of leather. All the drawers are on soft, self-closing runners with full extension.
